A senior academician in Sociology with experience in teaching, curriculum development, research, and academic administration, Dr Samya Shinde has been associated with the University of Mumbai as a member of the TYBA syllabus framing committees since 2007. She has also participated as an invitee in the UK–India International Education Research Seminar at the University of Hertfordshire, England, supported by UKIERI.

Dr. Shinde has held several academic leadership and governance roles, including Vice Principal, Nodal Officer, BOS Chairperson, and member of the Academic Council and Governing Body of various institutions. She was awarded an ICSSR Collaborative Research Project (2023–24) titled “Critical Assessment of the Socio-Economic Dimensions of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana in the Mumbai Region.”
